Regarding astrology
I thought of putting my view as comment but u ppl know when i start writin it has to be book so posting it.........
The exposure of general people is limited to the news papers, web sites, etc... Lets say if a doctor see a doctor diagnosing based on the size of head....i wont have respect towards doctors also...(what do u say??). Unfortunately, astrology is a very unregulated area of study, and a lot of extraordinarily simple-minded ideas get passed off as astrology. Astrology has been practiced for thousands of years, and it appears to many people that astrology is a manifestation of the human mind's first attempts to explain events in the world by association rather than causal relationships.
In other words, non-technological cultures often explain events by the action of gods or coincidental events and omens. The same myth-making part of the brain that created Greek, Norse, Hindu, Chinese, native American, African, or any other cultures myths, seems to have conjured up the myths of astrology.
The fact is that there is no defined way in which astrology works. But if we dont know a valid thoery to show how astrology works well that shld be enough to say that astrology is superstition but not science as science is based on theories?? But thefact is science is not based on theories but on observation, specifically on the scienctifc observation.Theories are extemelyimportant because they help scientist to make prediction on how a thing works in a new context. Without theories science wouldhave moved at a slower pace. But I can make valid and clear statements without any theories. Like I can say that much before Newton that "if I drop an apple it will fall down"...i dont think i need the laws of gravitation for this. Well this expands our sphere of saying that "any object will fall down" and explains the behavior celestial obejct etc stuff. Theoriesenable us to relate seeming unrelated objects into a coherent paradigm and enable us to make predictions in a new environment.Theories are critical but they can change without actually changing the validity of the statement.(different theories for the same phenomenon). The thing is we dont need a theory to say that "apple falls downs".
Astrology and its theories does not make common sense at all so why is it not superstion? The thing is that there are manytheoies in science that does not make common sense either. Lets go to the time of einstein....well i think then what ever einstein talked about would have been definitely seemed ridiculous. The 4th dimenson, relativity etc.....but now too they does not make common sense. But physicists take them seriously and study that. The only thing for an idea is not that it should be making sense to be scientifically sound. I think it is enough if it fits the data.
In the latter half of the 20th century astrologers have discovered complex interactions among the planets, which have developed new schools of astrology,two of which are known as the theories of harmonic astrology and cosmobiology. These new approaches to astrological interpretation are extremely cumbersome without the calculating power of a computer. Even older analytical procedures used in astrology require a great deal of computation. With the advent of the home computer astrology is now liberated from the restrictions of hand-held calculators and books of tables, and serious astrological work is now available to everyone. In short, the rules for astrological analysis are very complex and intricate, and in order to use newly discovered techniques it is, practically speaking, necessary to use computer software to perform these calculations.
Keep in mind also that a great deal of modern psychology has not been proven yet. For example, many psychologists emphasize the importance of self-esteem in people's lives, and the importance of developing self-esteem in children. This is a concept that is extremely difficult to prove scientifically, but for people that work with people and analyze situations carefully, the importance of self-esteem is obvious. Psychological theories, such as repression, projection, or displacement or also difficult to prove scientifically, but to a person trained in psychology often easy to identify, and very useful to better understanding an individual. Astrology currently does not have the support and endorsement of universities and research journals, and there are many very tricky and difficult problems that one encounters in attempting to scientifically test astrological theories, but it can be done, it has been done already to a small degree.
There are many experiments being conducted in the field to astrology to prove its validity but there is not enough resource for doing that......

I know that you trust astrology... You need not have filled a complete post to ascertain that fact again. Half of what was written there is incomprehensible to me... But still you have your own point... Good...

hey read the first line in the post.....
well i did not say i trust in astrology nor did i say i dont.
i said that astrology is a science and not a supersition. Like conventional science it can also be ascertained if there are proper resources for doing that. Well the efforts have to be taken to support people who want to prove their point rather than the scientists saying that they have proved "Astrology is a superstition". A myth has been prevailing among people in this regard. The fact is that it has not been proved so. See the link I gave(even I was not able to make out everything but the experiment results were listed in the keplers university....a ppt available) which talks abt the empirical expt that has been taken up and the accuracy of the results they got.
